This map represents geographically the career path of former doctoral students of the LIVES Centre, after obtaining their doctorate. It illustrates the diversity of possible career paths after a PhD, in the academic, public or private sectors.
We contacted some 100 PhDs and asked them the following questions:
- Where do you work now (job title and place of work)?
- What was the title of your thesis?
- When did you defend it?
- Your doctoral career in 5 words
- Any advice for future PhD students?
In turn, these numerous members of the next generation of professionals in the field of life course studies enrich the LIVES Centre's network and promote an interdisciplinary perspective in the reflection on life course studies and vulnerability.
