The full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing war had detrimental consequences for Ukraine and its labor market. In this context, effective matching between workers and suitable employment opportunities is central in re-building the labor market. This project proposes to implement and evaluate J4U (Jobs for You), an online platform to offer skill-based ranking of occupations and cognitive training, in the Ukrainian labor market. The platform and the interventions have been tested in three major regions in Switzerland and preliminary findings indicate that the interventions improve job finding and occupational mobility. The research will consist of randomized field experiment, to be implemented in three major universities in Ukraine, and in one regional job search centers, to understand how to assist job seekers in finding employment through actionable information, and training of cognitive functioning to improve multi-tasking and resilience to heighten the capacity to absorb information. The project breaks new ground by implementing the platform in the Ukrainian context and offers the unique opportunity to study the relevance of matching and cognitive training in a labor market in great turbulence.
